Woman to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court after another woman injured in A9 collision near Evanton

A 66-year-old woman is to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today charged in connection with a two-car crash on the A9 that left one woman hospitalised.

Emergency services were alerted to the accident at the Skiach junction near Evanton in Easter Ross just after 4pm yesterday.

The southbound carriageway was left impassable southbound for a period of time, with debris cleared and the road reopened at around 6pm.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 4.05pm on Thursday, 2 May, 2024, police were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash on the A9 Skiach junction.

“Emergency services attended and a 65-year-old woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment.

“A 66-year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection with a road traffic offence. She is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Friday, 3 May, 2024.”
