A motorist tried to dispose of a Class A drug by grinding it into the floor of his car after police stopped him near Evanton.

Greig Poole, a 47-year-old professional driver of Sandyhill Road, Shapinsay, in Orkney, was at the wheel of a Ford Ranger on February 1, 2023 when officers halted his vehicle near the Skiach service station.

Fiscal depute Robert Weir told Sheriff Gary Aitken: "The officers were unhappy with his driving. He was seen to try and conceal something in the footwell and a small bag of cocaine with a value of £200 was recovered."

Poole admitted possessing cocaine and obstructing police by concealing the bag and trying to grind it into the ground.

He was fined a total of £395.
