A Highland luxury pods business has declared itself “blown away” to scoop a Best Holiday Accommodation award.

Duirinish Pods and Bothy in the Kyle of Lochalsh area still “can’t believe” they scooped the award for Best Holiday Accommodation at the Scotland’s Business Awards, on April 21.

After winning the regional award, the Wester Ross business will be heading to the national Scotland’s Business Awards in Glasgow this November.

Co-owner of the business, Margaret-Ann Matheson, said: “We are absolutely blown away to have won the award and we still can’t believe it! We would like to thank all our guests who voted for us, it means the world and without them this wouldn’t have been possible.

“Duirinish Pods and Bothy is a family business that myself and Michael run, but we couldn’t have done it without my dad Ian’s help and handyman skills. He has been helping us since he retired in Jan 2022, he is just amazing!”

Duirinish luxury glamping pods come with their own private hot tub, with stunning views of Wester Ross. The Kyle business’ next venture is opening their bothy in May, which will offer “affordable accommodation” in a rural location with all the home comforts.

Margaret-Ann continued: “We won our first award in November, the Scottish Enterprise Award for Best Boutique Highlands Accommodation and now this award. We have also been nominated for a Scottish Thistle award from Visit Scotland for Best Self-Catering or Unique Stay, and we will find out in July if we have made it to the finals!”
