Hollywood superstar Russell Crowe makes plea to Highland music fans as Gladiator actor prepares for summer gig in Inverness

Hollywood superstar Russell Crowe has made a direct plea to Highland music fans to snap up the last few remaining tickets for his band’s only Scottish date in Inverness.
The Gladiator actor turned rock ‘n’ roller is playing the city’s Eden Court Theatre on Friday, July 26 as part of a 27-date tour across the USA, Italy, France, England, Ireland and Scotland.
All but a handful of Inverness tickets are now sold for the Russell Crowe’s Indoor Garden Party event.
In the early hours of this morning GMT, Crowe wrote on social media: “If you were planning on joining us in Inverness on July 26, there’s only 15 tickets left.
“Don’t hang about. See you in the Highlands.”
A-list screen star and producer Crowe has previously talked up his clan Fraser heritage.
In January, Crowe revealed that investigations into his family tree had shown he was a direct descendant of Simon Fraser, 11th Lord Lovat – the last man beheaded in The Tower of London.
The historic clan's traditional lands lie in the Beauly area and along Loch Ness.
The following month, Crowe sparked a frenzy of interest internationally across social media by suggesting that he might appear in Inverness with the band.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter, the New Zealand and Australia-raised celebrity declared he might appear in the Highland capital and posed the question: "What about a gig in Inverness? Any Fraser of Lovat relatives want to come?"
The tweet provoked a huge reaction, including an invite to play this summer's Belladrum Festival staged in the heart of Lovat Fraser territory beside Beauly.
The next day Inverness Provost Glynis Campbell Sinclair invited Mr Crowe to attend this year's Highland Games.
Soon after, Crowe confirmed he would choose Inverness as his preferred Scottish date destination, but ultimately passed up the Belladrum and Highland Games offers and plumped for Eden Court.
Crowe has long been involved in the music scene, and over the years has collaborated with many bands worldwide to sing and play guitar.
In 2017, he was heavily involved in creating a new act called Indoor Garden Party which cut an album called The Musical.
In June last year, Crowe sang in concert with the Indoor Garden Party in Bologna.
The concert completely sold out and the total proceeds were donated to the flood victims of Emilia-Romagna.
