Tain amateur photographer scoops two awards at East Sutherland Camera Club
Tain amateur photographer scoops two awards at local camera club’s monthly competition.
East Sutherland Camera Club, which sees regular participants from across Ross-shire, chose Motion as its theme for their April competition.
The competition was judged by Gordon Allison, who is well known locally for the photographic business he previously ran in Tain.
In the monochrome category, Zoe Gray from Portmahomack scooped first and second place. Her first-place-winning photo, titled A Dodgy Place to Stand, captured light trails of buses on either side of Edinburgh’s Princes Street. To capture the light trails, Zoe will have used a long shutter speed in a night time shot.
She used a similar slow shutter speed technique for her second-place-winning photo, Passing Through. This time she took a day shot, using camera panning to create different amounts of blur between the subject, foreground and background.
