Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team was called out to a summit near Gairloch to assist two cragfast scramblers.

The full Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) was called out on the afternoon of May 1, after a call from two cragfast scramblers – meaning climbers stuck on a rock-face or mountain-side unable to ascend or descend without danger.

A total of 22 Dundonnell MRT members turned out in An Groban, in the Flowerdale area of Gairloch, on a “thankfully straight forward rescue”.

Dundonnell MRT said: “Once we were on scene, the team quickly got to work setting up a belay system above the two scramblers. Then, a team member was lowered down to the casualties, who were one at a time lowered to the bottom of the route to the waiting team.

“They were then checked over, and found to be unhurt and accompanied back to the carpark. Thankfully it was a straight forward rescue. Thanks to all who attended.”
