Belmaduthy curlers celebrate becoming Ross champions

BELMADUTHY 1 clinched the Ross A Curling League by winning their final game of the season as they defeated Locheye 7–4.

Belmaduthy 1, skipped by Ian Fraser with Lynne Fraser lead, Jamie Fraser and John Fraser won the first three ends going five shots up with the Locheye skip failing to draw the hose to save shots.

Locheye, skipped by Richard Mackenzie, with Helen Lyon lead, Calum Stewart and Andrew Deeth won two shots in the fourth and then a steal in the fifth to give them a glimmer of hope.

But a draw for two in the sixth end put Belmaduthy back in the driving seat as they comfortably saw out the game to win the match and league title.

Belmaduthy 2 claimed runners-up spot with a 6-3 win over Muir of Ord 1.

In the Ross B League, top of the table Killearnanvbeat Caberfeidh 2 8–2 while Caberfeidh 3 beat Muir of Ord 3 8–1.
