Alness Academy scene set for W3L wrestling showdown

AN Easter Ross secondary will play host to some high adrenaline grip and grapple action this weekend.

The W3L Wrestling Showdown is set to take place on Saturday at Alness Academy.

The touring company has become a favourite with a family audience over the past two decades.

The company prides itself on “bringing the very best in professional wrestling from around the world to towns across the UK”.

One star set to compete is the north of Scotland’s own Meyhem Brooks of Elgin who will be back in action defending his W3L BreakOut Championship.

Other stars scheduled to appear include WWE Network stars Lou King Sharp and Pakistan’s Saqib Ali as well as crowd favourite Irn Drew Marshall.

The action is due to start at the Alness Academy assembly hall from 1.30pm on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the Easter Ross showdown, promoter Mike Musgrave said: “This is an event wrestling fans in the north of Scotland don’t want to miss!”
