THE Easter Ross muster point for an eagerly anticipated Highland Historic Commercial Vehicle Road Run this weekend has been changed.

Organisers of the event, which sets out from Alness, are keen to flag up the one-off starting point switch ahead of this Saturday's event.

The usual starting point, Dalmore Distillery, is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment which makes the venue unsuitable for the influx of vehicles which include a host of eye-catching lorries and commercial vehicles from days gone by.

Participants will instead muster at Cromarty Firth Business Park– at the site of the former Invergordon Smelter – for this year only.

As usual, the general public are welcome to come and peruse the vehicles from 8.30am onwards on Saturday morning. At 10am, vehicles will set off in batches to follow this year’s route.

Drivers will head along Shore Road to Alness and go along the High Street. Thereafter the run will go through Fortrose, Beauly, Drumnadrochit, Inverness, Whitebridge, Fort Augustus and Spean Bridge and Newtonmore.

All surplus funds will be donated to a local charity. Last year, Alzheimer Scotland benefited.
