BLOOD cancer charity Bloodwise is in for a whopping £725.07 funds boost – thanks to the P7c pupils at Avoch Primary School.

The youngsters held a whole host of events in the Black Isle fishing village and beyond to raise the cash for the good cause.

Bloodwise was founded in 1960 by the Eastwood family, who were affected by blood cancer, and has since raised more than £500 million for vital research into treatment and a cure.

Among the young Avoch fundraisers was pupil Freja Bishop, who said: “We held a lot of different events.

“I helped to create and organise a picture square competition and we also had a bake sale.”
