Award-winning author Kirsty Gunn to hold free festive workshop at Dornoch Library
Dornoch Library is preparing to host a morning of glitter, glue and Christmas twinkle on Monday, December 16 with a special reading and creative workshop with prize-winning author Kirsty Gunn.
Members of the public are invited to join the internationally published Ms Gunn for a relaxed and informal creative workshop that promises to bring all the sparkle of Christmas into the library.
While reading from her new collection of short stories and sharing tips on how to get your fiction published all around the world, Ms Gunn will also guide attendees through an exciting creative writing and craft workshop.
Continuing the Christmas theme, there will be the option to explore your crafting skills, with an opportunity to create a decorative cracker shaped giftbox.
Kirsty Gunn has published award winning short stories and novels in the UK and around the world, and her honours include Scottish Book of the Year, The Edge Hill prize for Short Stories, New York Times Notable Book and New Zealand Book of the year.
Ms Gunn said: “"I am excited to be working with Louise Baker at the Dornoch Library to bring this event together.
“People sometimes think of a book of short stories as being the end of a story, but in fact, fiction opens up all kinds of worlds. As this workshop proves!"
The free event is scheduled to take place between 10.30am and 12.30pm on Monday, December 16 at Dornoch Library.
Signed copies of Ms Gunn’s new book, Pretty Ugly, will also be available on the day.
