Black Isle village of Rosemarkie issues pumpkin parade shout out ahead of prize event this weekend

A BLACK Isle community has set the scene for a seasonal pumpkin parade.

Rosemarkie Amenities Beach Cafe is preparing to stage the event on Sunday and is keen everyone who might be interested knows about it.

Registration opens at the beach cafe at midday with winners announced at 4pm, when there will be a prize ceremony.

There are six categories:

  • Most creative
  • Most spooky
  • Traditional neeps
  • Unusual vegetable
  • Special award
  • Overall champion.

The cafe posted: "This is a local event which everyone is welcome to enter for free. Just bring your pumpkin and let the judges decide.

"You can bring the pumpkin and then come back for the prize ceremony. We’ll have our usual menu plus hotdogs and more!

"Hope to see you there."

The cafe closes at 5pm.
