Fortrose Fire Station on lookout for new recruits

A BLACK Isle fire station is on the lookout for recruits with "very low" crewing levels cited.

Fortrose Fire Station is keen to hear from suitable candidates for its retained crew.

All stations in Highland bar Inverness rely on retained crew which means local people supporting their local community.

These are people who quite often do the job on top of their primary employment.

Without more crew members this increases a very real possibility that there won't be a crew available to mobilise the local appliance.

In such a situation it leaves a community relying on an appliance coming from further afield – the nearest stations being Inverness and Dingwall.
