BREAKING: A9 closed to traffic in both directions after collision at Tain

UPDATE: A9 reopens at 12.45pm on March 22.

The A9 has been closed in both directions near Tain due to a road accident, Traffic Scotland has confirmed.

It is not yet known the extent of the collision, which was reported at 12:29 pm, or if anyone has been injured as a result.

A statement from Traffic Scotland reads: “The A9 is closed in both directions at Tain, due to a road traffic collision.

“Drivers should expect longer than usual journey times.”

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
