'Brisk trade' at Dingwall store lamb and feeding sheep show
DINGWALL and Highlands Marts Ltd on Friday sold 5489 store lambs and feeding sheep.
Lambs (5431) averaged £62.28 and sold to £117 gross for a pen of Charolais crosses from Wester Ardroy, Balchraggan.
Ewes and feeding sheep (58) sold to £136 gross for a Texel cross ewe from Ivy Cottage, Thurso.
The verdict: “The final swansong of the week saw another grand number of store lambs go under the hammer to a busy ringside of buyers. A brisk trade greeted vendors with trade been dearer than the previous sale despite vendors getting down the cuts of this year’s lamb crop.”
