Conon man told police ‘I am going nowhere with you’
Police who went with an arrest warrant for a Conon Bridge man were met with stiff resistance by the 45-year-old who told them: "I am going nowhere with you."
Steven Grant of Thistle Road, appeared for sentence at Inverness Sheriff Court after previously admitting resisting arrest on the night of January 4 this year.
Fiscal depute Anna Boyle told Sheriff Gary Aitken that Grant wouldn't let the officers in but when one went to another door, the accused tried to slam it in his face.
However the officer managed to grab Grant's jumper and a struggle ensued into the garden.
"The officer managed to get a cuff on him but he tensed his arms, pushed his body against the officer's and continued to resist. He was then put to the floor, handcuffed and arrested." Ms Boyle added.
Grant was fined £680.
