NC500 hotspot, Corrieshalloch Gorge bridge, has reopened after being fixed, thanks to “fab work” from specialist structural engineers.

The Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve was given a £3.1m facelift in 2023, which included £10,000 of maintenance works on the suspension bridge over the gorge.

The National Trust for Scotland (NTS), which manages the Wester Ross landmark, stated earlier this month that “investigations” were taking place due to a “potential structural issue” with the bridge.

The Corrieshalloch Gorge National Trust for Scotland page has now shared an update, saying: “The team at Corrieshalloch Gorge and National Nature Reserve are pleased to share news that our 150-year-old bridge spanning the gorge has been fixed, thanks to the fab work from specialist structural engineers this week.

“We look forward to welcoming you all to our magic wee site throughout this summer.”
