Dark Blue Saturday rallying cry as Ross County fans show true colours
ROSS COUNTY supporters have issued a rallying call to fellow fans in a bid to help the Staggies leap clear of the drop zone.
Plans are being laid to ensure a huge home support for County's February 28 Dingwall tie against Dundee.
Six points adrift at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership, Ross County first face a crunch clash this weekend with closest league rivals, Motherwell - a game already described as a "must win" if the side is to stay in contention for league survival.
The fan-led Dark Blue Saturday initiative trailblazed last season when the prospect of relegation was also looming on the horizon was widely regarded to be an enormous success, bringing fans out in their numbers both home and away.
Gary Bisset, one of the organisers of Dark Blue Saturday last season said: “When the chips were down the fans pulled together in numbers, at a great expense to the club who provided free transport to the game. Now it’s our time to show our true colours and repay the football club with a big home support.
"As a Ross County supporter, I am fully behind the club on this initiative and look forward to seeing a sea of dark blue in the home stands."
The initiative helped create a buzz around the club and with supporters.
Ross County said in a statement issued on its website: "The club felt incredibly proud of the overwhelming response from our supporters who really brought everyone together to create such a great day out.
"We would love to replicate that Dark Blue Saturday feeling when we welcome Dundee to the Global Energy Stadium on Saturday February, 28."
In keeping with the theme, the club has dropped the prices on its home shirts to £20 apiece or two for £36.
And in a bid to make the experience more affordable, the club is offering an incentive on match tickets with accompanied under 12s going free with adults who have bought a brief.
