Dingwall Academy pupils take part in autumnal wellbeing walk
PUPILS at Ross-shire’s largest secondary school enjoyed a bracing end to the term with a long stroll.
Dingwall Academy has established a tradition of staging wellbeing walks which allow pupils to build relationships, talk and get things off their chest.
The emphasis on good mental health has been a driver for the programme and was this year boosted by kind weather on the day with some beautiful autumnal colours along the route.
The walk on Friday involved an eight-mile loop from Dingwall Academy up to the MacDonald Monument, down through Pitglassie, round Maryburgh Woods and back to the school.
Pupils then enjoyed a barbeque with refreshments donated from the local community.
The school said later: “This is a massive team effort so huge thanks to everyone involved - staff, senior marshals, Tesco (rolls), Munros (burgers) Parent Council (chocolate).”
It went on: “Great job from the barbecue team, the office team and the litter pick squad. Well done to everyone who took part - happy holidays!”
