Postcode Lottery joy for Dingwall as local councillor scoops £50,000
A WELL-KNOWN Dingwall councillor and two of her neighbours have scooped £100,000 between them in the People’s Postcode Lottery,
Margaret Paterson’s postcode IV15 9LF was drawn as a Street Prize winner on Saturday and because she played with two tickets she has won £50,000.
Two other Craig Road residents, who have not been identified, have each won £25,000.
Now Mrs Paterson, a long-serving councillor and mother of nine, plans to spend her winnings on treating her kids and rewiring her home.
The Dingwall and Seaforth ward councillor found out she’d won the five-figure sum while on holiday.
Her son Ross was at home to receive the cheque on her behalf.
After hearing the news, she said: "I am over the moon to win People’s Postcode Lottery. I had considered cancelling my tickets until my son Ross told me that I would regret it. I am so glad that I listened to him.
"I have nine precious children, five girls and four boys, who will each get a nice wee present. And my house needs rewired, so I can now get an electrician round to sort this out."
Each winning Street Prize ticket is worth £25,000.
As Councillor Paterson played with two tickets she will receive £50,000.
