Dingwall eyesore cleaned up after being called out by locals
AN overflowing Dingwall skip has been cleaned up after the eyesore was called out by local residents.
The red skip, which is understood to have been on Castle Street for quite some time, was reportedly “becoming a health hazard, and the smell is horrendous,” according to one local.
Although the skip carries the logo of Munro Highland, the company confirmed on January 21 that it is “the site’s responsibility to advise when the skip is full and requires exchanging”.

A spokesperson for Munro Highland went on to state previously: “I have contacted the customer responsible regarding this, however we can only change the skip. We require the rubbish around the skip to be cleared in advance of the skip exchange. The customer has been made aware of this.”
However, just a couple days later, the mess around the skip had been cleared up as well as new fencing being put up.
On January 24, a spokesperson for Munro Highland said: “I can confirm that we carried out a skip exchange for the customer.”
Local resident, Nancy McMahon said: “Thank you for cleaning up the mess. What a massive difference in two days, including a new fence being erected.”
Other Dingwallians shared their thoughts on social media.
David Campbell said: “It's shame that they always have to be shamed into doing what the should do. It will not be the last time, l can assure you.”
