Dingwall hub’s 50th birthday bash marked with £16K membership gift to lucky lady

IT has become something of an institution in Ross-shire’s county town in the half century that it has been open, and so it was fitting the anniversary should be marked in style.

Dingwall Leisure Centre marked its 50th birthday with a weekend of free events with fun and games for all - and the chance for one lucky visitor to win a 50-year membership worth almost £16,000.

Operator High Life Highland welcomed some guests who have been fixtures at the centre since the day it opened, and some who recall taking children to playgroups and swimming lessons now themselves hooked to spin sessions and fitness classes.

Roller discos reeled back the years for some while hardy types took on military boot camp exercise challenges.

The leisure centre hailed “a great weekend” and carried out a live draw to determine its 50-year membership winner - the honour went to an Ann MacDonald.

The prize draw for the 50year membership was livestreamed.
