Quality calves attract good rates at last store sale of season at Dingwall and Highland Marts
DINGWALL and Highland Marts Ltd yesterday sold 137 store cattle and eight adult head of breeding cattle.
Bullocks (69) sold to 270.8p per kg for a 880kg Limousin cross from Druim Temple Croft, Gorthleck and sold to £1,260 gross for a 685kg Aberdeen Angus cross from 3 Dounie, Edderton.
Heifers (58) sold to 270.7p per kg for a 490kg Saler from Coilach, Muir of Ord and £1,170 gross for 565kg Limousin cross from Torran Farm, Delny.
Young Bulls (10) sold to £900 gross for a Simmental cross from Cherrybank, Heights of Keppoch.
Breeding cattle (8) sold to £1,480 for a in calf Simmental cross cow from ½ of 2 Glengrasco, Portree.
The verdict: “With a small entry forward for the last store sale of the season quality calves sold to great rates again with your hill type calves following recent trends.”
