Dingwall Men’s Shed near Ross County FC flags craft village open day and tool sale

A ROSS-SHIRE men’s shed group has tabled an open invite to the local community to see what it’s all about.

Dingwall Men’s Shed and Craft Village will stage the event on Saturday, June 7 at its Jubilee Park Road base. It has a hidden entrance by the jail tower next to the Ross County FC stadium.

The group said of the 10am to 3pm event: Everyone welcome - ladies included. Come and see what we do.”

Back in February of last year, the group secured £5500 from a discretionary fund towards its community craft village concept. The project aimed to encourage members of the community – particularly those who have become socially isolated and disconnected from society – to develop contacts and networks in the hope of re-gaining a sense of self-worth and practical achievement through group participation.

The group was also chosen back in April 2022 by S3 pupils at Dingwall Academy for a £3000 Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) boost after pupils followed through on a fact-finding visit by successfully pitching for the project for a share of available funding.
