Dingwall panto times flagged as group eyes new town venue

A ROSS-shire amateur dramatics group with a rich history has treasure in store for panto fans this year.

The local panto performed by Dingwall Players has become a seasonal favourite in Ross-shire.

Those in search of Treasure Island will find it this year in a new High Street venue - Ross Hall in the Legion Club.

Director Allan Thomson said: “The cast and crew are raring to go, and are working hard to ensure the show is successful. The production has songs, jokes and a pesky parrot.

“This year we are in a new venue on the High Street, Ross Hall in The Legion building. The staff at the Legion have been very enthusiastic and supportive of us and we are looking forward to filling this hall with families and people of all ages over the four shows.”

The Hispaniola will be docking in Dingwall from December 12 – 14. On board will be Ma Hawkins, Gem Hawkins and Long John Silver and his parrot amongst other colourful characters.

The cast are keen for locals to ensure they don’t miss the boat and secure their ‘boarding passes’ as soon as possible.

The Players are are reportedly raring to go and rehearsals are well advanced.

Performances of Treasure Island are on Thursday 12, Friday 13 and Saturday 14 December at 7pm, plus a matinee on Saturday 14th at 2.30pm.
