Dingwall Amateur Swimming Club welcomes lifeline cash boost as call goes out for business sponsorship
A ROSS-SHIRE swimming club battling the knock-on impact of the coronavirus crisis and rising pool fees has been thrown a lifeline.
Dingwall Amateur Swimming Club has been putting out feelers over sponsorship to help it remain afloat in challenging times.
Head coach Andrew Clark explained: “Like many clubs we have been impacted by Covid which has seen our membership numbers take a dip. This, coupled with an increase in pool fees, left us with an uncertain future. We are currently seeking sponsorship opportunities from local companies and local vet, Conanvet, have kindly sponsored the club with a significant amount of cash to help secure our stability going forward.
“It’s been a challenging time for everyone, particularly in grass root sports, none more so than swimming. People and businesses have been so generous. The sponsorship agreement with Conanvet is the significant piece of the jigsaw effectively safeguarding the club for the future and allowing us to continue to train and help our members reach their full potential, despite the limited pool time available to them in Dingwall Leisure Centre.
“Our club has ages ranging from 7 to 17, and we are currently sitting at 67 members.”
The club has also invited others to help it survive with sponsorship opportunities. It posted: “Dingwall Amateur Swimming Club, like countless other clubs, are struggling financially and need to turn to our local community to survive.
“We are offering businesses the opportunity to sponsor one of our trophies/awards. One year’s sponsorship costs £100 per award. In return, the club will name the sponsor on awards night as well as announcements on our public Facebook page.

“We would be so grateful for any help the community can offer. Conanvet have kindly offered to sponsor our club and we hope others will join them in keeping our club in the community.”
