FIRE crews in an Easter Ross town were mobilised to deal with a skip fire last night.

The Invergordon crew was called out at 10.49pm to reports of a fire in the open in the town.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the incident happened at Clyde Street.

On arrival it was discovered to be a large skip "well alight". The second pump was requested for extra crew and to provide water supplies.

The fire was extinguished using two hose reels and a thermal image camera.

The stop notice was recorded as 11.41pm.
