Black Rock Recreational Park and Hub in Evanton officially opened marking a new era for Easter Ross community
YEARS of hard work has paid off with the opening of The Black Rock Recreational Park and Hub in Evanton.
Evanton Social and Events Group was behind the scheme to revamp a facility originally used by the football club but which closed in 2015 in a state of disrepair.
With funding from various sources and generous private donations, local contractors refurbished the building to a high standard
Leased from the Novar Estate, it was formally opened by Ronald Munro Ferguson.
Ardross Pipe Band entertained and guests were able to enjoy seeing the benefits of the new venture.
The hub has two main rooms, a kitchen, showers and disabled toilet facilities. An interesting exhibition on the history of Black Rock Rovers Football Club and old Evanton was on display.
The park and hub are available for use by local communities and groups. There is also a defibrillator on the outside wall, adding to the existing ones at Kiltearn Primary School and the Novar Arms.
The efforts of all who have worked so hard to provide this asset was recognised. Bookings can be made by contacting Lorna Shirran on 01349 830789 or Anne Macdonald on 01349 830 122.
