AN online implement sale organised in Ross-shire offers the chance to snap up a deal on a wide variety of farm-related equipment.

Dingwall and Highland Marts, the region’s premier auctioneer, is flagging the sale that starts on Monday (June 3).

Lots can now be viewed online.

The mart said: “Bids can also be left online or for those not technically minded please contact the main office on 01349 863252.”

Items listed range from a 12ft field gate to a diesel generator to a variety of JCB diggers.

DINGWALL and Highland Marts sold 467 prime sheep at their latest sale.

New season lambs (14) averaged 403.6p per kg and sold to 416.0p per kg and £214 gross.

NSL SQQ (42) averaged 403.6p per kg.

Old season lambs (174) sold to 325.0p per kg and £170 gross.

OSL SQQ (121) averaged 284.54p per kg.

Feeding sheep (237) sold to £206 gross.

The verdict: “As the hogg season starts to come to a close with us the small number forward were very mixed and a large number are starting to shoot teeth which hindered the sale average.

“An increased number of lambs forward cashed in at dearer rates. It was the ewe trade however that took centre stage and was a lot dearer on the week. Export sorts still look the dearest commodity with pens after pens hill cheviots regularly £120 plus.”

New season lambs (14) averaged 403.6p per kg and sold to 416.0p per kg for a pen of 48.5kg Suffolk Crosses from Smallburn Farms, Duffus and £214 gross for a 58kg Texel Cross from Smallburn Farms.

Old season lambs (174) sold to 325.0p per kg for a pen of 42.5kg Cheviots from Conon Brae Farms, Torgorm and £170 gross for a 62kg Cheviot from Longreens Croft, Thrumster.

Feeding sheep (237) sold to £206 gross for a Suffolk Cross Ewe from Smallburn Farms.
