Glenmorangie launches two new whisky expressions in travel retail offer expansion
A Tain distillery has launched two new whisky expressions celebrating the grape harvest and summer.
Glenmorangie announced the introduction of two new whiskies in their retail travel retail offering: Glenmorangie Vindima, a 16-year-old single malt finished in sweet Madeira casks, and Glenmorangie Aureum, a 21-year-old expression fully matured in bourbon casks.
This comes as the distillery is making available more of their core range for airport travellers.
The offering now includes Glenmorangie Original, which has been recently relaunched as a 12-year-old single malt, as well as the travel retail exclusives including the 12-year-old Glenmorangie Accord and 14-year-old Glenmorangie Elementa. Returning to the range is the acclaimed 18-year-old Glenmorangie Infinita with a bold new look and name. A travel retail favourite, Glenmorangie Signet, is now accompanied by the even rarer and darker Glenmorangie Signet Reserve.
Glenmorangie’s master blender, Gillian Macdonald, said: “We know that global travellers and whisky lovers are always looking for delicious new discoveries, and these new travel retail exclusives are sure to expand their flavour horizons.
“With rich notes of candied fruits and a sizzle of chilli and clove, Glenmorangie Vindima is a sensory celebration of Madeira’s grape harvest. And when it comes to Glenmorangie Aureum, its smooth and vibrant flavours of pear, jasmine and honey deliciously capture the sun-drenched tones of a summer’s day.
“With our growing range, we hope to bring even more joy to whisky lovers as they journey through airports around the world.”
Glenmorangie Vindima (pronounced ‘Vin-Dee-Mah’) is a sweet and spicy expression with rich fruity notes.
This whisky is inspired by the island of Madeira’s grape harvest festival, known as “Vindima”.
When the island’s grapes are ripe, the community unites to handpick the fruit destined for Madeira wine, the hard work followed by joyous celebrations. Aged 16 years, The Vindima marries whisky aged in bourbon casks and whisky finished in Malmsey casks – the sweetest style of Madeira. The deep purple tones of its packaging are inspired by the tones of ripened grapes.
Glenmorangie Aureum (which is Latin for “gold”, pronounced “Au-Ray-Um”) is a 21-year-old whisky that aims to evoke the warmth and luminosity of a midsummer’s day, full of Glenmorangie’s signature flavours of pear, lemon sherbet and jasmine and softened by age. Its orange gift box is a homage to the sun.
Leonardo Ferracina, managing director at global travel retail for Moët Hennessy, said: “It’s fantastic to be introducing the Glenmorangie 16-year-old Vindima and the 21-year-old Aureum to our travel retail exclusive offering. These two new expressions will not only elevate our portfolio, but also drive excitement amongst global travellers. These whiskies epitomize our dedication to craftsmanship and innovation.”
The distillery also recently launched its rare and sumptuous 25-year-old Glenmorangie Pommard Cask Finish exclusively at its Heathrow Boutique, limited to 1,000 bottles.
Glenmorangie Aureum will be initially available at Glenmorangie’s Heathrow boutique from July, before going on sale worldwide in September. Glenmorangie Vindima will be available from August.
