Dingwall Word on the Street is that excitement is mounting ahead of three-day festival throwing spotlight back on much-loved local venue
THE scene is being set in Ross-shire's county town for three days of books, talks, walks, dance, exhibitions, Gaelic, music and performances next week.
Word on the Street is returning from May 18 to 20 after a year's break to refresh the festival and following an online adaptation prompted by the pandemic.
Organisers said: "Last year we took a break in order to review and refresh the festival – the most significant change being a move to May.
"It was also felt that the event needed a physical focus and as a result Saturday will see a day long programme in a central, much loved venue, namely Dingwall Town Hall.
"The Town Hall will host exhibitions, books, crafts, music, drama, Gaelic and an array of typewriters. As well as the Town Hall programme there will be events around the town in the Ross-shire Club, Highflight Bookshop and on the street. Most events are free or pay what you want. We hope to see you there!"
