Community spirit is focus of Invergordon street event; Stalls, entertainment and backing of RNLI lifeboat volunteers in port town
COMMUNITY activists in Invergordon will this weekend set out their stalls for a Christmas fair which promises visitors live entertainment while they browse for bargains.
The Community Spirit Invergordon group has staged the event for the past three years. It will run from 1pm until 4pm on Saturday on the town’s High Street.
Volunteers are expecting a total of 26 stalls and will also have lifeboat representatives on hand to provide hot food for visitors.
Also planned is a Santa’s grotto and a pop-up craft shop. Davy and Sam Cowan, and Willie and Ellie, from Tain-based The Impact, have been lined up again to entertain visitors. South Lodge and Park primary school kids will be getting folk in the mood by singing Christmas carols.
There will be a temporary road closure on a section of the High Street from its junction with Castle Road eastwards to its junction with Mackay Street tomorrow until 6pm to ensure public safety.
The road closure will be in place from 10am and until 6pm.
