Ross County kids moo-ved by support for Irish Supercup bid
YOUNG Ross County players targeting a once-in-a-lifetime football festival in Northern Ireland are going the extra mile to score some funding support.
Ross County FC have entered their U13 Academy squad into the Supercup NI tournament taking place in Coleraine in Northern Ireland this summer.
It gives youngsters a chance to compete with teams from around the world in one of the biggest youth tournaments and to explore the country in their downtime.

Parents are digging deep to help pay for the July trip and have launched a fundraiser to ensure their kids can take part and have a fantastic experience.
And they have been really moo-ved by the efforts of Black Isle chainsaw carver, Iain Chalmers, who has created a a unique Ross County Highland Cow which will be a star prize in a raffle taking place in a raffle to be drawn in June.
One of the organisers, Donna Fraser said: “I wanted to get a unique prize to raffle off for Ross County fans and being a lover of Iain Chalmers’ work, I contacted him to see if he would do a piece incorporating Ross County and the Highlands.
“Iain being amazing at what he does suggested the Ross County Highland Cow and he has just done such an amazing job it's truly incredible. The feedback to the cow has been amazing with many entries made.”
The raffle tickets are on sale now available to buy from all squad parents with tickets at £1 a strip. These include an aviation voucher, restaurant vouchers, a signed Ross County football and a four-ball at Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club.
Said Donna: “We have been so lucky to secure fabulous donations from many local companies golf clubs, who truly get loads requests for donations for many fundraising events and we are so thankful for all the support.”
Aware that fundraising efforts are challenging given the financial constraints faced by many, the group has come up with a wide variety of events aimed to suit many tastes.
These include a ladies Prosecco Night in Nairn on March 29, a golf event hosted by Strathpeffer Golf Club on April 13 and a cycle fundraiser which will see squad and parents cover the 351 miles from the Global Energy Stadium to the Coleraine venue for the tournament. That will take place on May 17 at Tesco Inshes in Inverness.
Donna said: “We hope to raise our target for the boys and send them off to make many happy football memories.
“Parents have successfully being running a teabar at the boys home fixtures at Ross County providing drinks and food and an opportunity to buy raffle tickets. This will continue till the end of the season fixtures.
“Parents have been selling football card squares to family, friends and colleagues. The winner gets a large sum of money with the fundraising pot getting money.”
