A WALKER who suffered a leg injury on an iconic Ross-shire peak triggered a full callout of a mountain rescue team.

The Wednesday evening shout for Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team was prompted after the casualty suffered a lower leg injury on the path to Ben Wyvis, just above the treeline.

Nineteen team members deployed to the hill to assist.

The casualty was assessed, treated, packaged and then stretchered down to the roadside to a waiting ambulance.

Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team is a registered Scottish charity made up entirely of volunteers, on-call 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. It relies on donations to carry out lifesaving work.
