Black Isle hotel extends restaurant closure due to staff shortages and thanks loyal customers
A BLACK Isle hotel is shutting its doors for an additional week as "we simply don't have the staff at the moment".
Staff shortages have been a persistent theme in the hospitality sector across the Highlands with a number of businesses struggling to maintain normal opening hours as a result and, at worst, being forced to close.
The Allangrange hotel and restaurant in Munlochy last week flagged a closure due to staffing issues saying it wanted to be sure it could continue to provide exceptional service and was prioritising supporting its staff.
Today, it flagged "good news and some bad news".

It posted: " Unfortunately, we have to remain closed for an additional week – it pains us to make this decision, however, we simply don't have the staff at the moment.
"If you know ANY chefs looking for work, please, please, please point them in our direction."
Its good news is that as of Monday, September 11, its head chef will be returning to work "so we will be opening our doors again".
In the transitional period, it will initially be limited to offering dinner service only.
It added: "We're actively working on finding and training new kitchen staff to fully restore our regular opening hours and provide you with the service you've come to expect from us.
