A BIG-HEARTED four-year-old determined to do his bit to keep his little patch of Ross-shire clean and tidy is leading by example.

Roman Ripley attends Park Nursery in Invergordon and started litter picking last year when he noticed the local play park where he lives in Saltburn had been heavily littered.

‘If we all picked up a bit we would see a big difference’

Dad Andrew explained: “He insisted he wanted to make a difference and get it all tidied up. He started of picking up by hand using gloves until I bought him his own kids litter picker - now there is no stopping him!”

Roman’s efforts come on the back of a roadside rubbish campaign backed by the county’s Lord-Lieutenant which has been gaining momentum since launched last week.
