An Invergordon restaurant is closing due rising costs and the current economic challenges.

The Ship Inn restaurant, on Shore Road, will close its doors to the public indefinitely from March 29.

In a social media post, the owners said: “It is with regret that we announce the upcoming closure of our beloved restaurant at the Ship Inn.”

“Until then we will remain open to the public as normal every Wednesday-Saturday from 5pm-8:30pm

“We encourage everyone that has bought gift vouchers to use them up before March 29t 2025.

“However, if you don’t get a chance to use them, we are happy to offer a refund for those still in date. Just pop into the Ship Inn with the gift vouchers and we’ll be happy to help.

“We’d like to thank all of the team for their hard work and dedication over the years and wish them all the best for the future.

“And finally, a huge thank you to everyone who has visited the restaurant at the Ship Inn, whether it was a one-off, or you joined us regularly. We will miss you!”

Restaurant regulars have been sharing their thoughts on the closure.

David Hayes-Macleod said: “Oh I’m so sad to read this. The Ship Inn has been such a great place for superb food and a place I used to always recommend to friends visiting etc. This will be such a loss to the town but completely understand your reasons.”

Shonah Flett said: “Sorry to hear this. We have had lots of meals there enjoyed in relaxed, characterful surroundings.”

Lynsey Bolton added: “This is a great shame. A big miss locally. Always had lovely meals and evenings.”
