Investigation under way after employee hurt after accident at Easter Ross Port of Nigg facility run by Global Energy Group
EMERGENCY services were called out to an Easter Ross port following an industrial accident which left a worker injured.
An investigation is under way following the incident at the Nigg Energy Park facility, which is operated by the Global Energy Group (GEG).
It is understood that a man was electrocuted and suffered facial injuries as a result of the accident. He was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.
In a statement, a GEG spokesperson said: “We can confirm that an incident took place at our Port of Nigg facility on Thursday, December 10, resulting in the emergency services being called to site and an individual being admitted to hospital with injuries.
"We have initiated a full investigation and are working with all relevant parties to ascertain key factors and learnings. Our thoughts are with the individual and their family.”
The Health and Safety Executive said: "HSE are aware of the incident and are investigating.”
