A KIND-hearted couple have cleared a fly-tipping mess in Lochcarron that left locals feeling “so angry”.

Last Sunday (April 20), a local was shocked to discover a fly-tipping mess just past the Smugglers Cove, near Leacanashie Walk.

The local said: “Seeing this past the Smugglers Cove made me so angry, I just had to vent. Whatever is the matter with some people?”

However, by Monday evening it had been reported that all of mess, except from some cement, had been cleared up by a kind-hearted couple on their afternoon walk.

A Highland Council spokesperson said: “It is very disappointing to note this recent incident of fly-tipping near Lochcarron.

“There is simply no excuse for this behaviour which impacts on the beautiful environment that we have in the Highlands.

“Individuals and businesses are required by law to dispose of their waste properly and the Council will use the full powers available to fine and prosecute individuals who are caught fly-tipping.

“Please note the responsibility for clearing fly-tipping rests with the landowner.”
