Liverpool man was three times limit in mobility vehicle in Dingwall





A Merseyside man who drove north in his mobility vehicle to help a friend in Dingwall was banned from driving for a year at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Niall Maguire (47) of Washington Parade, Bootle appeared before Sheriff Gary Aitken and represented himself.

He admitted driving at 3.45am on August 4 this year with three times the legal level of alcohol in his system in Greenhill Street, Dingwall.

His reading was 66mcgs when the permitted amount is 22mcgs. He apologised to the court and said: "I came up from Liverpool to help a friend and we had a few drinks. I didn't feel drunk."

Maguire was also fined £640.
