Northern Constabulary appeals for witnesses

Witnesses are being sought by police after a woman had her purse stolen while walking in Inverness city centre.

She had a three-figure sum of cash in the purse when a man grabbed it from her.

The woman was walking along Inglis Street, about 3.30pm on Friday, when the theft occurred but Northern Constabulary's appeal for witnesses went out today.

The suspect is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, of medium build, with short hair and was wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Inverness police on 0845 6005703 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
