Top baritone comes to Inverness for coffee and song
LEADING Scottish baritone Donald Maxwell will be joining Inverness Choral Society for coffee and a few songs at the Town House this month.
The Society’s twice yearly musical coffee morning is always a popular event with Saturday shoppers, but should hit a high note on 26th October when Maxwell, who has long been a good friend to the Inverness Choral Society, will drop in to give a short concert.
Maxwell’s eminent career in music and opera worldwide has seen him perform at such venues as Covent Garden, La Scala in Milan and the New York Met.
His last visit to Inverness was in May this year when he gave a guest performance at Inverness Choral Society and Canadian choir Chorus Niagara’s performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana at Eden Court.
The Society’s regular accompanist Sheila Bruce will be at the Town House piano from 10am, with Maxwell on stage at 11.45am.
