AN eight year old girl has died after she took ill at an Inverness primary school this week.
Chloe McCowatt, who was described by her family as a "thoughtful and caring daughter", was sent home from Central Primary School after she complained of feeling unwell.
Chloe’s condition deteriorated at home and she was taken to Raigmore Hospital where she passed away at 6.30pm on Tuesday.
It is understood she may have suffered a severe asthma attack.
Police say enquiries are being made but at this time there are no suspicious circumstances and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Her devastated family have released a statement through the Northern Constabulary.
It read: "Chloe was popular, thoughtful and caring daughter, sister, grand daughter, neice and cousin. She had a bond with not only her family, but her friends and everyone else who knew her. Her family will never get over her sudden, tragic and devastating loss."
