New Primary School For Findhorn – The provision of a new primary school for Findhorn was agreed to in principle by Moray and Nairn Education Committee at their meeting in Elgin on Wednesday.

Charges For Use of Park and Pavillion –Is ten shillings an evening too much to charge for the use of the playing field and Pavillion at Roysvale?

When the list of conditions governing use of the facilities – including proposed charges – was submitted to the monthly meeting of Forres Town Council on Monday evening some members thought the figures too high – others approved.

In the upshot, it was decided to continue the matter for a month so that members might “digest it” and make a final decision at their July meeting.

Moray Estates’ director and general manager of the Forres-based firm, Mr Roger Carr, explained that the decision had been taken at boardroom level in the light of the current economic crisis facing the farming industry.

Weird and Wonderful – A good crowd watched the NMSU Avionics take on the Kinloss Raft Race title on Saturday, in record time, with a convincing display of seamanship.

The prize for the best designed craft went to MK Flight who did their best to stay afloat in a double decker bus!

The other main accolade of the day, that of the best turned out crew, went to the Wives’ Group.
