Flights are resuming at Inverness Airport

FLIGHTS at Inverness Airport have resumed this morning (Wednesday) following disruption caused by drifting volcanic ash.

It follows the eruption of the Grimsvotn volcano in Iceland which began on Saturday evening.

Airports across Scotland have been hit by severe disruption.

However, departures from Inverness took off as scheduled this morning, with flights to Manchester, London Gatwick, and Stornoway/Benbecula all leaving as expected.

Arrivals from Stornoway and Sumburgh/Kirkwall have also landed on time.

Passengers are being warned however, that as a knock-on affect from the disruptions, there could still be some flight delays at certain Highlands and Islands airports today. Passengers should contact their airline for further information.
