FIREFIGHTERS in the Highlands have been called to another major wild fire.

They have been working through the night to put out a hill fire near Drumnadrochit.

At its height, more than a dozen units were called to the blaze, which had spread over an area around Loch Gorm.

It is thought to be the largest grass and gorse blaze tackled by crews this year and was first reported yesterday afternoon.

It follows a major blaze which swept through woodland at Milton of Leys backing on to Tomfat Woods on Tuesday morning.

The fire covered 10 hectares of the wood at the back of Redwood Avenue.

Three appliances, a community response unit, a water carrier and a three wheeled vehicle were all called to the scene.
