TWO iconic Ross-shire sporting estates have gone on the market in what the sellers say is an "exceptional" move.

Tournaig and Heights of Kinlochewe estates, near Gairloch, have been put up for sale with price tags of £2.5 million and £2.6 million respectively.

Tournaig Estate centres around Tournaig House set in woodland gardens designed by Osgood Mackenzie, famous for creating the Inverewe Gardens in the late 1800s.

Heights of Kinlochewe is said by the sellers to be one of the country’s most splendid Highland stalking estates with a deer forest described as "second to none".

John Bound, a partner with CKD Galbraith, who specialises in the sale and purchase of estates, said: "It is exceptional that two truly fantastic estates have come to the market in such close proximity.

"We have experienced healthy demand for Highland estates this year from both domestic and foreign parties.

"Given the wealth of sport on offer, each estate is highly desirable and sure to attract a lot of interest from those eager to become the laird of an outstanding Highland landholding."

Set amongst some of the most dramatic and unspoilt landscape in the country, Tournaig Estate and Heights of Kinlochewe offer some of the finest country sports in the Highlands.

Heights of Kinlochewe Estate is located above the north eastern end of the well known Loch Maree, which offers salmon and sea trout fishing. There are also a variety of attractive hill lochs, including Loch Fada, offering additional trout fishing.

A successful woodland grant scheme is in place at Heights of Kinlochewe and the possibility of a considerable hydro scheme, off the River Abhain Gleann na Muice, which runs out of the estate’s Loch Fada.

The complementary estate of Tournaig, offers deer stalking and trout fishing on a number of attractive hill lochs, with the largest trout caught in Loch Ghiuragarstida.

There is also a productive in-hand farming enterprise and established woodland schemes with the estate enjoying a coastal frontage onto Loch Ewe.
