Dingwall link road plans go on display
A new relief road is planned for Dingwall
PLANS for a new link road in Dingwall are on public display in the town today (Fri).
Highland Council is consulting on the Dingwall Kinnairdie Link Road project which will link the A834 Strathpeffer Road at the Docharty Road junction with the A862 Relief Road at Dingwall Academy.
The proposals can be viewed at Dingwall Academy until 8pm this evening.
Included in the plans are improvements for the council buildings junction of High Street, Dingwall, with the A862 Relief Road.
The project comprises the construction of 0.9 km of 7.3m to 10m wide carriageway with two 2.0m wide footways/cycleways.
This will include earthworks, drainage, structures, public utility services diversions, street lighting, landscaping, signing, road marking and accommodation works.
To mitigate against flood risk concerns, a flood protection bund is included in the project proposals which is to be constructed adjacent to the existing bund at the Dingwall Business Park.
The proposed project is to be undertaken in two phases with work on the £1 million first phase, near Dingwall Academy, expected to start in the spring of next year.
