PRIME Minister David Cameron will visit the Highland capital this afternoon as part of the campaign trail for the May 5 elections.

The visit will take place at Inverness Town House.

The PM is also meeting with the Save RAF Lossie campaigners to discuss their concerns about its potential closure.

It is thought the base near Elgin could be closed as part of the government’s strategic defence review.

Actor Ewan McGregor has backed the campaign. His brother Colin used to be based at Lossiemouth.

The Northern Scot, The Elgin-based sister newspaper of the Highland News, has been involved in the Lossiemouth campaign.

It’s editor Mike Collins will be part of the delegation who will meet with the Prime Minister.
