Skye's Mylo, Shutter and Lafontaines added to Ironworks forthcoming attractions
CERTAINLY the biggest name in dance music to emerge from the Highlands, DJ and producer Mylo has a date at The Ironworks in Inverness on Saturday 2nd November.
Originally from Broadford on Skye, Mylo — real name Myles MacInnes — enjoyed massive success with his debut album Destroy Rock & Roll, which he recorded in his bedroom, and provided the smash single Dr Pressure which reached number 3 in the UK charts.
Highland talent from closer to home, instrumental post-rockers Shutter also appear at The Ironworks on Friday 11th October.
In their time together the band have played everywhere from the Sounds in the Grounds Festival in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis to Death Disco in Notting Hill’s Arts Club in London, Sneaky Petes in Edinburgh, and provided a live soundtrack to Inverness’s 5th of November fireworks display.
Shutter have shared stages with such bands as Deftones, Aereogramme, Pelican, Red Sparowes, The Twilight Sad, 65 Days of Static and Gallows as well as appearing at the Belladrum, RockNess and Celtic Connections Festivals.
Seen at this year’s Belladrum Festival, Glasgow band The Lafontaines also appear at The Ironworks on Friday 29th November.
The five-piece, who were described in the Sunday Mail as "very possibly the best live band in Scotland", will release debut single All She Knows via Manchester label LAB Records on 27th October and will mark the occasion with a nationwide tour.
This summer also saw the Lafontaines make a headline appearance on the BBC Introducing Stage at T in the Park, while their fanbase also continues to grow rapidly with over 105,000 views on YouTube for their first three videos.
Tickets for Mylo’s DJ set and The Shutter and Lafontaines shows at The Ironworks go on sale on Friday 20th September from the venue box office and website.
